Turlock PD Mobile app for iPhone and iPad

The Turlock Police Department is committed to enhancing partnerships with the

community it serves. We are proud to present the Turlock Police Department MobilePD

application. The application is free to the public. It provides access to the latest news,

crime maps, social media feeds, and general information about our efforts to keep the

community safe.


The intent of Turlock Police implementing this product is to leverage technology with

the goal of enhancing community interaction. This application, along with face-to-face

communication, will serve to augment the relationship between the community and the

Police Department.

Some of the features of this mobile application include:

• News:

This will allow the police staff to post articles related to probationer activity, along

with a daily activity log.


• Crime Maps:

This will allow community members to view an interactive map of the City of

Turlock depicting reported criminal activity. The activity can be isolated to

particular areas of the City and/or particular crime classification as determined by

the user.


• Directory:

This will allow users to easily call or email staff within the Turlock Police

Department. This could also include information for probation officers.


• Social Media Feeds:

This will provide links to external platforms such as the Turlock Police

Department’s Facebook, Twitter, Nixle, Nextdoor, Linked In, etc.


• Alerts:

This will allow staff to send push notification alerts to users of the mobile

application. The alerts could range from a missing child, to letting the community

know about a recent crime trend, or a release of a probationer into the

community.


• Online Reporting:

This will allow users of the app to file a police report (for certain crimes) online

through their mobile device.


• Neighborhood Issues:

This will allow citizens to report quality of life issues to staff such as abandoned

vehicles, abandoned shopping carts, graffiti, unsafe structures, zoning violations,

etc.


• Videos:

This will allow citizens to view YouTube video uploads by the Turlock Police

Department.


• Crime Tips:

This will allow citizens to submit crime information to staff which could include,

but is not limited to reporting probationers, drug activity, theft, etc.


• Copy of Reports:

This will provide information on how to obtain a copy of a completed police

report.


• Report Probationers:

This will allow concerned citizens to send crime tips to staff in regards to

probationers violating their probation.
